Saxophonist Tarik Clark brings soulful elegance on new release

Missouri saxophonist Tarik Clark brings an air of style and elegance with a side of funky grooves on his latest single "Soul Surpluss". Taken from the CD of the same name, the single has a classic soul jazz feel with warming synths and passionate sax notes.

Tarik was born and raised in Hannibal, Missouri and his love for the sax began at the early age of five years old while attending church. He was first trained on the clarinet and began lessons on the saxophone when he was eight years old.

Tarik grew up on a staple of jazz musicians who inspired him. including Gerald Albright, Kirk Whalum, Grover Washington Jr and Najee.

A graduate of the Missouri University of Science and Technology with a BS in Engineering Management, Tarik still holds his love for music close at heart. Not only is he well known in the jazz world, he is also part of the music ministry at his church as well.
