Back in 1986 Al Jarreau and French musician Philippe Saisse cleverly penned the bilingual peppy single "Says". This song appeared on Al's "We're in this Love Together" album and it has been refashioned by guitarist Roberto Tola.
Hailing from Sardinia, Italy, Roberto's version of "Says" brings a uniqueness and grandeur with a ton of celebratory horns, chord progressions and a funky guitar building on the chorus and bridge of the original song.
Elsewhere on the single, Roberto leaves room for improvisation in a fascinating musical turn of events with big band splendor.
This single will also appear on Roberto's upcoming CD titled Presage scheduled for a Winter 2023 release.
