Saxophonist Walter Beasley returns with the single "Hydra", a Grover Washington Jr original. Walter oozes sax sweetness in this chilled laid-back groove truly owning this single which he said is his favorite from Grover.
In a recent interview, Walter admitted that that the song was "difficult". He said "if you play too much, you destroy it, if you play too little, you destroy it. The sweet spot is somewhere in the middle".
For years, Walter's fluid playing style has been liken to that of Grover to the point where he was said to be the "heir to Grover Washington Jr's throne"by fans and critics.
Walter has shown himself not only a very consistent alto and soprano saxophonist but a vocalist as well and a Professor.
